What exactly does my statement say?
It says what I have been saying for months: Obama's losing in November
will not be ENTIRELY about the millions of people who think a guy who has
been in the Senate for ONLY four years---not even a completed term----is
not ready for the White House...but that this race will be decided on
race. CNN showed polling that indicated that 1 in 5 voters were frank
about voting on the basis of race...think about the many more who were not
honest that they would vote on race.
And the racism works from two directions: there is at least subtle, if
not outright overt, evidence that Michelle Obama and HER pastor do not
much like white people (actually anyone who can't be identified as
'black'), especially those who make any kind of money. It's hard to say
how Obama feels, but let's say that over the years, and with his books,
he's been feeling more like a black man than a white man, and trying more
to come to terms with the fact he is a black man. Certainly with good
reason: to bigots, a half-black man is a "nigger" just the same, and I
don't blame Obama for thinking he's the target of racism. But because he
too is the target of bigotry, has he become resentful and thus acquired a
bigotry against those who are members of the race among whom he finds the
bigots, although those members are not bigots themselves?
Right now, there are plenty of doubts, and the last thing Obama needs are
those who have doubts. These people will go with the "safe" choice of
McCain, although they will hold their nose when voting for him. I know
plenty of people who will write in Hillary's name anyway, which means
Obama already lost their votes and has no plan to get them.
Being a Hillary sup****ter, and seeing that Obama may win this nomination
with a taint to it, my voting for Obama in November is not automatic. I
have a wait-and-see attitude up until about early October, and then I make
up my mind with finality and will urge as many as I can to go with my
vote. Right now, Obama looks like he's winning this like a
Republican...so why not sup****t the real Republican?
