DAMIR visits The DMZ (the demilitarized zone) North Korea. News and Photos

by "Jasmine Kay" <blowthesound@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Oct 22, 2006 at 10:17 AM

The DMZ (the demilitarized zone) above the 38th parallel between
North Korea and South Korea. The DMZ stretches across the Korean
Peninsula from East to West (155 miles).

Throughout the visit, we are constantly reminded not to take photos,
and only at selected security stripped yellow line areas, photos are
forbidden while in the tunnel. Heavy security is present.

The DMZ is a hot spot now cause of the CNN coverage of the present
news on the North Korean nuclear threat, and US relations with North
Korea's leaders. Surely the DMZ has historical significance and is
one of the many tourist attractions.

Being at the DMZ, and walking over the "Freedom Bridge" is a moment

I will never forget, writing, "The whole world should be one
family".

Looking into the future peacefully.
