He was talking about his grandmother, who probably WAS EXACTLY
THAT, and who probably held views typical of the times. If you had asked
him about his grandfather, and he'd been Black, he probably would have
said "...typical Black person". Of course, then the same people griping
about this would say "Aha! He's admitted that it was typical for Black
people of his grandfather's generation to have negative views of
Whites!", but meanwhile the way in which they choose to get offended
over the "typical White person" statement is on behalf of the person of
whom it was said. Ridiculous!
That is a double standard. If you don't like it when theyr'e
applied to you, don't apply them to others!
