For the past few days, this newsgroup has been treated to a growing
number of posts containing overwhelming amounts of bull**** attacking
John McCain -- for example --
-- claims that McCain was responsible for the fire on the USS
Forrestal that killed over 160 sailors;
-- claims that McCain made "videos" while a prisoner of war in Hanoi
-- and on and on and on.
Contrary to what you may think, these attacks are NOT coming from the
left.
The source of this bull**** is an individual named Ted Sampley who
runs a website titled "Vietnam Veterans Against John McCain." Sampley
is a conservative Republican -- during the primary elections he
sup****ted Duncan Hunter. In 2000, when McCain beat Bush in the NH
primary, Sampley was active in the misinformation campaign in SC that
led to McCain's defeat there.
Sampley has another site, US Veterans Dispatch (Google for it) on
which he attacks Obama and Clinton. In 2004 he ran a site titled
"Vietnam Veterans Against John Kerry." Sampley is an equal-
op****tunity bull**** artist.
