The Straight Talk Express seems to come off the tracks on the issue
of lobbyists. McCain loves talking up his maverick nature but when
the lobbyists talk, McCain becomes a lap poodle. He signed on to
reform lobbyists yet has no trouble taking their money and having them
as political advisers on the campaign trail. Also there are the
issues of the Keating Five and of McCain's troubles with the FCC, in
which he acted on behalf of people from whom he received campaign
contributions.
McCain is no maverick. He is just like all of the other DC
politicians who take money from lobbyists and then do favors for those
lobbyists.
