With North Korea, I would agree, but not with a US ally, Saudi
Arabia. And any argument that Saudi Arabia is a dangerous part of
the world lies moot against North Korea being than it's
"dangerouser".

1) The US can earn money by selling its nuclear power technology.
2) This could encourage the US to use nuclear power in the US.
3) If the US is involved in the technology, it can have some
control, at least some influence, since it will occur with the US
involved or not.
