Price Of Oil Has Risen Alarmingly Since Democrats Won Control Of Congress In 2006

Is this merely a coincidence or is there something more involved? The 
Democrats and some "liberal"/green Republicans have been very adamantly 
opposed to oil and gas drilling in the U.S. or its coastal waters. They
have 
blocked drilling in the promising Anwar area of Alaska . They have opposed

nuclear energy for peaceful purposes and the building of new, more
efficient 
oil and gas refineries. They have also opposed the conversion of coal to 
oil. Such an obstinate and benighted position of the Democrat U.S.
Congress 
on domestic energy production  has no doubt had a large influence in oil
and 
gas price speculators.

Hypocritically the Democrats attack OPEC nations for not increasing
foreign 
oil production fast enough. They do not seem very concerned about the
negative environmental impact oil production could have in Third World 
nations.

Phony "liberal" politicians like Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton keep 
talking about creating substitutes for carbon and nuclear fuels. Let's
face 
it, there aren't
any. Windmills, biofuels and solar power etc. at best could meet on about 
10% of the U.S.'s needs for energy.
