I see posts attacking McClellan and his book, accusing him of being
some kind of turncoat, a mercenary, or helping
the terrorist cause.
I think what is overlooked is that if...and I said IF Bush is at some
future date scrutinized for criminal actions, then
McClellan could be regarded as an accessory. McClellan was in all but
daily contact with Bush and had an intimate
knowledge of the mechanisms for the Administration's decisions. By
writing the book and confirming what many
have held for years to be Bush's deceptions, then he will be more
kindly treated in any legal action.
And further, I am somewhat amazed at our Wa****ngton official's outcry
over the book. The accusations in Scott's
book have been echoed by others either in book form or by actions of
prominent government officials.
One of the most prominent was Colin Powell. As Secretary of State, he
gave the Mobile Weapons Lab speech at
the UN. He recanted the speech on "Meet The Press" saying much of the
information he gave then "...was
inaccurate and wrong and in some cases, deliberately misleading."

Richard Clarke in his book "Against All Enemies" tells of
administrative negligence in the handling of the events
leading up to the Iraq invasion in 2003. See:

Senator Robert Graham wrote in his book "Intelligence Matters" many of
the same sentiments. Graham stated that
no National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) was received nor requested in
the weeks before the current Iraqi war. See:

Representative Dingell of Michigan, the longest serving member of the
House, stated in an interview on "The
Charlie Rose Show" that Bush, in a face-to-face meeting with Dingell
had refused Dingell the intelligence
information upon which Bush had based his invasion of Iraq. Dingell
also referred to the Bush Administration as
"the worst since Caligula". See:

The list is long, growing, and becoming louder.
