A nasty trend is taking place in our jails and prisons. And,
government does not seem to care. If a person is suspected of a
certain crime, he or she may be killed in jail while awaiting trial.
Prison officials and state governments are fully aware of this threat
because in the event a suspect is a famous person, often that person
is placed in solitary confinement to avoid potential problems with
other inmates, but normal everyday Americans don't get this treatment
nearly as often.
So the question is why don't they?
Primarily because our prisons and jails are hell holes run by
disinterested, often poorly educated individuals who simply do not
care if an inmate dies at the hands of others while in jail.
Whats worse, if the staff at the prison or jail believes you're
guilty, they may set you up to be killed by other inmates.
This is how bad our prisons and jails have become.
Just as in this story, it says the journalist died, but in another
section close to the end of this story, the author states that "he was
found with his head in a bucket of water". And, he was in a cell with
two other inmates.
Does that sound like a suicide to you? This is another jailhouse
murder being treated like its no big deal.
