| This is OneTwoThree's brain on drugs:

therefore

natural

|
| Yup.
|
| >with less and less hydro as a percentage of the electricty

here
in
| >the west, but the leftbots say global warming)
|
| The percentage of energy contributed by hydro is growing smaller
| because demand keeps rising but we aren't building any new hydro power
| plants. But I forget, you're in the west, things are different there.
| Georgia broke a forty year record for drought last year. We've gotten
| a few more storm fronts this year and lots of pop ups, but it's not
| the sort of long, steady rain the reservoirs and water tables need.
| It's been a long time since I've seen a natural spring.

| >Real tough for anyone to say their electricity is ALL from hydro - once
its

|
| The way it works is that if you sell electricity to somebody 300 miles
| from your plant, you put that amount onto the grid and it's delivered
| at the other end but by somebody else. If your generating company
| can't get orders for juice on the grid, you don't generate and aren't
| profitable. Otoh, if the plant you bought electricity from goes down,
| the clients 300 miles away won't notice because their actual power
| source is local.
%%%% I find it hillarious around here that the dirt people are complaining
about a coal fired TVA power plant dumping pollution into the air when in
the 70's and early 80's they shut down the building of a TVA nuclear power
plant and a TVA hydro plant that would have replaced the polluting coal
plant!
