Who threw the first punch? is a good question, and allows for moral
indignation, and wars of the righteous.
"Sooner there than here" is another slogan, and permits of
"defence-in-depth" - aggression, in the name of defence. "No appeasement"
is a good motto, too.
Homo Sapiens, the Mad Ape, is an aggressive animal by basic nature, and
finds it easier to kill opponents than defeat them in argument. Which is
why I predict our demise, as a species, by 2050 AD, if not before.
Ironic, that India, the land of peacenik, Gandhi, is now armed to the
teeth, and Australia justifies ex****ting uranium as it will "only be used
for peaceful purposes". Maybe, but it will free up other uranium for
non-peaceful purposes.
NATO builds missile defences in Europe, to defend against Iran ! So,
Russia is now having joint war-games with China, and has resumed
surveillance flights.
Yep, not long till we wipe ourselves off the map.
So, maybe we should be grateful for what few peaceniks are still around.
They might have a point, even if good for a laugh.
