But it aint upta us. The question is, whether the US economy can go on
despite the mismanagement by Bush, or whether there will be a collapse,
default on US treasury notes, bouncing social security checks, and the
impending dissolution of the United States of Denial.
There's good case to be made that the transnational oil outfits figured
they had enough market in China and Asia, and didnt need the US economy
sucking so much fuel. They therefore chose an inept leader who they knew
would produce the crisis, and in the short term, record profits.
The oil transnats get to kill two birds with one stone. Dramatically cut
US consumption, and thereby extend the lifespan of current oil fields,
and then, as US troops go home, watch the bloodbath in Iraq send a clear
message to the rest of the Islamic world, that their demagogues will be
unable to control the zealotry they themselves created. Without US fuel
use, cutting off the supply of Iraqi oil is no biggie. Without US money,
the oil nations wont be able to buy food.
