Funny you should bring that up.  If I had taken some money and put it in
an 
insured savings account in Canada at 2% p.a. I would have had a profit of:

Today, Canadian dollar = $0.95
1/21/2001 CAD = $0.63


($0.95 - $0.63)/0.63 = 50.7% plus interest = 57.66%

Had I taken the same money  and invest it into the S&P500, today I would 
have:

S&P500 on 1/21/2001 = 1342.90
S&P500 now = 1551.50

1551.50  - 1342.90/1342.90 = 15.5%

And for good measure

S&P500 on 1/21/1993 = 435.49

For the Clinton stock market

1342.90 - 435.49/435.49 = 208.3% return for the Clinton stock market.

To sum up:

Insured savings account in Canadian dollars 1/21/2001 to present: 57.66%
The Clinton stock market 208.3%
The Bush stock market 15.5%

If you want to measure presidents by the stock market returns,  it looks 
like Clinton hands down, no contest
