Otis Ferry has been charged with common assault and robbery following
a violent attack on two hunt monitors last November.

Otis, who is Brian Ferry's son, allegedly attacked the monitors and
stole their cameras as they attempted to film potential breaches of
the hunting ban by the Heythrop Hunt in Gloucester****re. He is due to
appear in court on 7 May.

League campaigner Matt Fox said: "Hunt monitors do a good job in
difficult cir***stances and I am pleased to see the police taking
serious action against those who attack them."

Otis Ferry charged with robbery and common assault

Otis Ferry will appear in court on Wednesday 7 May, charged with
robbery and common assault.

Otis, 25, is huntsman and master of the South Shrop****re hunt. He is
believed to have been following the Heythrop hunt at the time of the
alleged incident in Lower Swell, near Chipping Norton, last year.

A spokesman from Gloucester****re police told H&H: "We can confirm that
a 25-year-old man from Shrewsbury, near Shrop****re, has been charged
with robbery and common assault."

The spokesman added: "He will appear before Cheltenham Magistrates
Court on 7 May."

The charges follow alleged scuffles with "hunt monitors" in Lower
Swell last year, when Otis is re****ted to have pulled a video camera
away from two women following the Heythrop.

Otis Ferry was given a conditional discharge for disorderly conduct in
June 2005 after storming the House of Commons in September 2004 — when
the hunting bill was going through Parliament.

Otis Ferry charged over hunt clash
Pro-hunt campaigner Otis Ferry has been charged with attacking and
robbing two hunt saboteurs who were trying to film him.

The 25-year-old son of rock star Bryan Ferry is alleged to have pulled
a video camera from the hands of two women during a hunt in
Gloucester****re.

The women were monitoring potential breaches of the ban and gathering
video evidence when the incident occurred last November.

Officers arrested Ferry at his Shrewsbury home the following day.

He had been riding with the Heythrop Hunt near Chipping Norton, in
Tory leader David Cameron's constituency of Witney, Oxford****re.

Mr Cameron has been out with the Heythrop Hunt in the past and a
number of its followers canvassed for him before he won the
parliamentary seat.

A Gloucester****re Police spokeswoman said: "We can confirm that a
25-year-old man from Shrewsbury has been charged with robbery and
common assault.

"He will appear before Cheltenham Magistrates' Court on May 7. This
follows an incident in Lower Swell, Gloucester****re, in November last
year."
