Glorious! I hear that they've built new hangars, torn down an old tank
farm, expanded their firefighting facility, etc. I suspect they're
working
on electronic warfare technology now rather than stealth or hypersonic
aircraft. Timberwind was the last project that I know went that direction
(from Edwards) but I don't know whether it went to that base or another.
Popular Science did a cover story a few years ago about how the whole show
was closed down. They showed a rusty, abandoned gate claiming it was the
gate at Groom Lake Road. I know it wasn't, 'cause I've been out there.
