Low price, high availibility, doesn't rot mind and body
like some of the other stuff, (previously) low legal risk.
The "rich" ... they've always loved their cocaine - high
status BECAUSE it's expensive and quite illegal. Sure,
they smoke some weed too ... but that's considered kinda
proletarian.
