You can actually carry it (legally) all the way INTO most air****ts
(if you can carry it there legally outside the air****t).
You cannot take the arms through the security point legally but for
most air****ts that is well within the building.

Mixed feelings about that -- the whole thing is stupid for such incidents,
but the more trouble these make the more likely the law will be
adjusted to something sensible.
