Iowa is in the midwest, Poundcake.

They get thundering blizzards in the winter with -70 wind chill temps
and yards-deep snowfall.
I know...I've shoveled my share.

They get floods regularly in the spring. I helped dike-up the Little
Sioux River when I was in college.

They get furious hail storms that will tear out whole sections of crop
land.

They nasty tornadoes. Periodically, one will flatten some small town.
This spring it was Parkersburg, which I am familiar with from visting
my grandparents many a summer. It's not far from where I grew up in
yet another small, Iowa town.

S**t happens weather-wise in Iowa and all of the midwest, you fat,
silly little man.

Now tell me...........can you even find Iowa on a map??
