I dunno about towns dude, I live in the Arkansas Ozarks. Nearly every
house has guns in it. From Conway to Fayetteville, across all the hill
towns, prolly 200,000 people. Been a few years since the news re****ted
anyone shot up here, and that involved some crazy flatlanders who moved
here. But look at the schools for a clue. Get out an atlas, look up the
small hill towns like Atkins, Batesville, Clinton, Deer, etc thru the
alphabet. then goto:

Arkansas spends about 20% as much as California does, but its 8th in
the nation, and that's the whole damn state, which includes the very
poor delta schools. if you just averaged the Ozark hill towns, it'd be
the best in the nation.
look at the numbers, for years, the rate of school violence has been
zero. dropout rates in the single digits. graduation rates near 90%,
attendance often at 95%. Deer this year had 100% graduation. college
remediation runs close to 20%. The above link dont say, but all the
previous annual re****ts show these towns to be 99%+ white.
These are old fa****oned family farm kids. The land is too steep for
agribusiness. If you do not want your kid paddled in school, you need to
sign a form. No bully would let his mom wimp him out like that. As a
result, the classrooms are orderly. Kids who mouth off will have their
***** dragged to the principle's office where the pine paddle is taken
off the wall for attitude adjustments. It worked 100 years ago, and as
we see from the low rate of disruption in the classroom still does.
Arkansas has the 2nd lowest teacher pay in the nation, but they send in
applications if they like teaching more than high income.
