Perhaps you two are on the same group, so you can tell me which one it

I am almost out of my word allotment so I will try (key word) to be brief.

The person that Chris was responding to made a statement, to wit:

"Double taxation sucks."

One might easily conclude that the original comment would also include an 
opinion that hidden multiple taxation also sucks, but (as stated) it is 
still just a statement of an opinion.  It was not an argument at all that 
"all taxes are bad" as you seem to conclude.  It was not an argument at
all.

The reply by your friend seemed, to me, to be a comment as well ... and I 
thought it implied that double taxation did not suck at all ... thus my 
question (which I admit was formed as a statement).

It would really be better, however, for this not to continue as a giant 
improper cross post.

If you would like, we can continue this discussion in your forum ... mine 
doesn't like all this cross posting.

And you might begin by consulting a friend that might know what "non 
sequitur" means.

The comment "Double taxation sucks" certainly can be deemed to convey an 
opinion that a reader should be able to conclude includes the idea that
the 
poster intends to mean that "double taxation" is BAD.  YMobviouslyV
