Wayne Root wins NY Libertarian Party Presidential Straw Poll
At the Convention of the New York Libertarian Party held in Queens New
York on April 26, 2008 (yesterday), Wayne Allyn Root was the runaway
winner of the straw poll held to determine the Libertarian Party
nomination for Candidate for President of the United States.
Eric Sundwall won election as the new chairman of the New York State
Libertarian Party. Sundwall offers energetic new leader****p of the
Libertarian Party, which includes his frequent postings of new YouTube
videos. He will definitely be an improvement over the moribund
leader****p of recent years.
The highlight of the day was the speeches by eight of the Presidential
Candidates for the Libertarian Party Nomination or their
representatives. As there was also a convention of the Indiana
Libertarian Party held on the same day, some presidential candidates
made their speeches to the New York Libertarian Party early and then
flew to Indiana to make their speeches there, whereas others spoke to
Indiana early and then flew to New York to make their afternoon
speeches. Then, there were those who just appeared at one convention
and had a representative speak at the other one.
What is noteworthy is that there are so many top level candidates who
actually want the Libertarian Party nomination and are willing to fly
around the country to get it. This is perhaps the result of the fact
that the Republican Party nomination has already been decided and the
Democrats are down to just two candidates, so there is really nowhere
else for other candidates to go but the Libertarian Party. Nobody
cares about the Greens, Reds or Yellows any more.
The whole show was stolen by Wayne Allyn Root, who made an exciting
and energetic speech. In the straw poll that was held after all the
speeches were finished, Wayne Allyn Root was the winner by a wide
margin. Second was Bob Barr and third was Mary Ruwart. Mike Gravel,
who made the most specifically Libertarian speech, finished far down
the list. This may have been because Senator Gravel made his speech at
9:30 AM so that he could fly to Indiana to speak there. Another
candidate who did the same thing, Michael Jingozian, finished even
lower than Gravel. This was perhaps because the straw poll was not
taken until 5:00 PM and some of the voters may have forgotten about
the early morning speakers.
After he had finished his prepared speech, I asked Bob Barr a sharply
worded question about his involvement and leader****p in the campaign
to Impeach President Clinton over the Clinton-Lewinsky Scandal. Barr
gave a good answer that seemed favorably to impress many of the
voters, who applauded his answer. However, I do not see how Bob Barr
will be able to win the nomination, in view of his notoriously anti-
Libertarian past.
I am now convinced that the party nominee will be Wayne Allyn Root.
He provided an interesting tidbit of information. Turns out that Wayne
Allyn Root graduated in the same class of Columbia University in 1983
as did Barack Obama. However, he never met Barack Obama and neither
did anybody else he knows. He seems to be questioning whether Barack
Obama really did attend Columbia University in 1983.
I told each of the leading candidates that I am a book publisher and I
have published or reprinted 42 books in the last two years. Examples
are my biography of the Mistress of President John F. Kennedy and my
forthcoming biography on the Mistress of President Warren G. Harding.

Therefore, if any of the presidential candidates have a mistress, I
will be happy to publish her biography.
Among the other books I have published recently is a book by former
World Chess Champion Anatoly Karpov:

One of the candidates is selling a book put out by a vanity publisher.
I am not a vanity publisher. My company has been publi****ng since 1968
and has some prestige in the niche market of chess and go.
I told them that if any of them have a last minute campaign book that
they want published, I can get it out in ten days GUARANTEED. Nobody
else can make that promise, I believe.
