I agree as stated it is misleading, but apparently something
happens to some cells, which may be stem cells, to fix a
problem which should not be fixed in that way. The body
defense mechanism catches many of these, but it may itself
run into that state and produce the cancer.
Far more study is needed. The complex problems of cell
regulation and other misbehavior of the system cannot be
well studied, as they are now, by simple analytic tools.
