The Hebrew source is "ad ki yavo ****lo"
"ad ki" means "until"
"yavo" means "will come"
"****lo" is either the name of the place, or "his" (mispelled "shelo)
or, if you really wanted to bend backward, gimetria for "moshe"
(moses).

If we accept your explanation then Jacob's prophecy was wrong.
Judah lost the kingdom more than a 1,000 years before
Muhammad showed up.

If we accept the claim, common to quite a few Jews,
Christians and Muslims, that ****lo is the Messiah
then the verse makes little sense because of the
"slight" problem with dates.  One explanation from

He explains that in the "ad ki" means "in the end"
and the verse promises that in the end, when the
Messiah will come, the king will be from the
tribe of Judah.  The argument is well founded,
at least for those who understand Hebrew, but
I don't like it.  The one I like is Bchor Shor in

He based his explanation on Psalm 78:
"60 He abandoned the tabernacle of ****loh,
       the tent he had set up among men.
..........................
67 Then he rejected the tents of Joseph,
       he did not choose the tribe of Ephraim;

 68 but he chose the tribe of Judah,
       Mount Zion, which he loved."

The point is that the first king from the
tribe of Judah came to ****loh and took the
Ark to Jerusalem (see 2 Samuel 6) and so
Judah became the dominant tribe.
