Not true. The various over and undervote counting schemes could be
used to skew the election all over the map. How close was the vote
nationally? We don't know.

Keep in mind that 2000 was only close for Gore because Bush's DUI
info came out days before the election. That surely cost Bush way
more than a half point and certainly gave Gore a chance in Florida.
Look at 2004, Bush won easily.
