Mubarak snubs Bush at World Economic Forum

decided to leave.

97,000 pound trucks are unfit for our roads!

Industry lobbyists are trying to pressure members of Congress to create
a trucking demonstration project in six states that would allow the size
and weight limits of these vehicles to jump from 80,000 pounds to nearly
100,000 pounds.
This is a coordinated effort to undermine highway safety legislation to
be drafted this summer.
These trucks will have increased stopping distances, are more difficult
to control, and will ensure faster deterioration of our nation's roads
and bridges. Some bridges are already in danger of collapsing.

Orthodox Jewish youths burn New Testaments in Or Yehuda

Orthodox Jews set fire to hundreds of copies of the New Testament in the
latest act of violence against Christian missionaries in the Holy Land.
Or Yehuda Deputy Mayor Uzi Aharon said missionaries recently entered a
neighborhood in the predominantly religious town of 34,000 in central
Israel, distributing hundreds of New Testaments and missionary material.
After receiving complaints, Aharon said, he got into a loudspeaker car
last Thursday and drove through the neighborhood, urging people to turn
over the material to Jewish religious students who went door to door to
collect it.
"The books were dumped into a pile and set afire in a lot near a
synagogue," he said.

Iraq could have largest oil reserves in the world

Iraq dramatically increased the official size of its oil reserves
yesterday after new data suggested that they could exceed Saudi Arabia’s
and be the largest in the world.
BP, Exxon Mobil, Chevron, Royal Dutch Shell and Total have been queuing
for rights to exploit Iraqi reserves.
TVNL Comment: When Saddam was in charge the oil money went to provide
free education and health care for all Iraqis. Now the oil money will go
to Bush & Cheney's friends. All this thanks to the blood shed by the
wonderful troops who are "protecting us!" What a crock!

administers the food stamp program. "We don't have hard-core evidence to
say it's directly linked to the economy. But it makes sense because
