Because even when the Dalai Lama says he is not asking for
independence, Hu says the same thing over and over. It is not an
honest call for dialog from Hu. In his mind he is "stalling" until the
Dalai Lama dies. He thinks then the problem will go away. He could not
be more wrong. It is a very dangerous stance on the part of the
Chinese.
